October Dog Walking Challenge for Dementia UK: Week 3

October Dog Walking Challenge for Dementia UK: Week 3

Today (Sunday), is the first this week that we've had a clear morning. The rest of the week has been misty and murky, or very dark! The sunrise this morning was a mix of pastel pinks, bright oranges and yellows. And it was much appreciated after a week of gloom!

Going backwards, on Thursday, during Willow's off-lead adventure, I stumbled upon a hopeful little spider, who'd spun a web within dandelion wishes. I think that can definitely be considered living the dream!

The wild chamomile is still going strong too! I think it's one of my favourite flowers and I'm hopeful that next year, I'll be able to dry some for tea.

I've really noticed a shift into Autumns colours this week,. The Oak trees and Dogwood bushes in particular, are starting to look spectacular.

On Monday, it was all about the mushrooms! There are so many different varieties around and I always feel so blessed to see them. Often, I see one on Monday and by Tuesday it is gone. They are clearly considered a delicacy to certain woodland birds and creatures.

And that brings another week of walking for Dementia UK to a close. So far, we have walked 52.5 miles, so we really don't have many more to go!

Join us here again next Sunday to see where it takes us.... I have a feeling, it might be a muddy one!
