October Dog Walking Challenge for Dementia UK: Week 2

October Dog Walking Challenge for Dementia UK: Week 2

This week, our walks were illuminated by the beautiful Harvest Moon. She really was incredible and well worth the very early morning walk on Monday!

Monday and Tuesday are my days working at the hospice. I'm incredibly grateful to be able to wander around a small woodland at lunchtime. There is always such a lot to see and this week, I found several different varieties of mushroom and a vibrant, male pheasant feather!

On Wednesday morning, we started the day by catching a beautiful, pastel coloured sunrise in our favourite local fields. Willow is always focused on something in the distance!

Thursday afternoon was Willow's off-lead adventure and she spent a lot of time in the pond as usual. No matter the temperature, she's always up for a dip!

On Friday, we went to our local nature reserve and Willow was delighted to encounter 14 squirrels as we walked around. I don't think I've ever seen that many during one walk. There are so many acorns this year, I guess they're stocking up!

Sunday morning started with a walk around local fields and it is rather gloomy out there today. The sun definitely rose, but we haven't actually seen it yet!

Still it's been another wonderful week of walking and so far we have clocked 38 miles! We are over halfway to our £150 target for Dementia UK. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far and if you would like to, you can do here.

I hope you're enjoying walking with us and check back next Sunday for an update on week 3!
